View from Rigi Scheidegg in NE direction to the small town of Goldau in front of Rossberg (1580 m), built of conglomerate locally known as Nagelfluh. The scarp of the rock avalanche of 1806 appears below the W summit. It resulted in one of the worst disasters in Swiss history, with hundreds of fatalities and the destruction of Goldau and other villages. Lake Zug is shown on the left side, whereas Lake Lauerz appears on the right side, in front of Klein Mythen (1810 m) and Grosser Mythen (1898 m).
