View from Horta on the island of Faial in SE direction to the upper part of the stratovolcano Montanha do Pico. With an elevation of 2351 m, this highest summit of Portugal surmounts any other peak of the Azores by far. As it reaches above the planetary boundary layer, the summit area is much less humid than the rest of the island.
