View from the Miradouro do Monte Carneiro over the town of Horta and across the Faial channel in SE direction. The island of Pico on the other side of the channel is dominated by the dormant stratovocano of the same name. With an elevation of 2351 m, this highest summit of Portugal surmounts any other peak of the Azores by far.
