View down the E slopes of the Caldeira volcano with the village of Flamengos in SE direction. The island of Pico on the other side of the Faial channel is dominated by the dormant stratovocano of the same name. With an elevation of 2351 m, this highest summit of Portugal surmounts any other peak of the Azores by far.
