Once having formed a separate island, the Teno mountains represent one of the oldest parts of Tenerife, and are characterized by deeply incised valleys (barrancos) and a variety of ecological niches. The rain-shaded W slopes are home to succulent plants such as this Euphorbia shrub. Location: between Risco Blanco and Los Quemados.
