Montaña Blanca with pumice and lava flows

WI_ctf306.jpg

The Montaña Blanca (2748 m) on the E flank of the Pico del Teide - Pico Viejo volcanic complex dates back to a partly explosive, partly effusive eruption approx. 2000 years ago. The explosive phases produced mainly pumice, whereas phonolithic lava is the result of the effusive stages.
