Betty's Bay | Protea cynaroides

Location: Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens. Members of the Proteaceae plant family are characteristic for the fynbos shrublands of South Africa. Many of them have large, highly conspicuous inflorescences. Protea cynaroides - commonly known as the king protea - is the national flower of South Africa.
