The deposit of the rock avalanche triggered by a major earthquake on July 10, 1949 appears in the lower centre. This landslide destroyed the village of Khait, leading to hundreds, maybe thousands of fatalities. The same earthquake also triggered many loess landslides in the Yasman Valley (backgound), coalescing to a catastrophic loess flow.
