Río Petorca Valley (left centre) and Río La Ligua Valley (right centre) are seen in the foreground, whilst the glacierized summits in the background are Cerro Mercedario (left side, 6720 m) and Cerro Aconcagua (right side, 6962 m). Both peaks stand entirely on the territory of Argentina beyond the main divide of the Andes.
