Estero Guayacán, a tributary to the Río la Ligua, is seen in the central foreground, the Río Putaendo Valley in the centre of the photo. The glacierized summit behind is Cerro Aconcagua (6962 m). It stands entirely on the territory of Argentina beyond the main divide of the Andes.
