The slopes of the active Volcán Tungurahua (5016 m) are highly susceptible to lahar flows, threatening the populated areas nearby. Eroded lahar deposits are seen in the front, the landslide in the background was possibly induced by undercutting of the river bank. Location: near Highway 30.
