The unstable slopes of this catchment yield a significant amount of debris to the Gadria Torrent, resulting in frequent debris flows. The large alluvial and debris cone between Laas and Schlanders, dividing the Upper and the Lower Vinschgau Valley, consists of material originating from that area. In the early 21st century, the Gadria Torrent is one of the best-monitored debris flow catchments worldwide.
