Pont du Gard | Reflections

WI_fr060.jpg

This well-preserved Roman aqueduct - one of the highest of those facilities - was built to transport water across the Gardon River to the town of Nîmes. The structure most probably dates back to the period between 40-60 AD. In 1985 it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
