View from Kaiserschild in E direction to Eisenerz with Erzberg (1466 m). This mountain, due to its high content of the mineral Siderite, has been the scene of iron ore mining at least since medieval times. The ore brought prosperity to the town of Eisenerz and to the entire region named Eisenwurzen. In the early 21st century, mining is still important for the otherwise weak local economy. Hochschwab (2277 m) appears in the left background.
