The Vatsala Durga Temple in the left background, built of sandstone and completed in 1672, was later completely destroyed in the earthquake of 25 April 2015. Reconstruction began in 2017. The Chyasilin Mandap Temple in the centre represents a reinforced construction of the old temple destroyed in the earthquake of 1934. It survived the 2015 earthquake. The former Royal Palace appears near the right edge of the photograph.
