Morano Calabro and Monte Pollino

WI_e2139_004.JPG

Considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Morano Calabro looks back to a long history. The fortress at the top of the historic centre already played a role in the period of Norman rule in early medieval times. The village is located close to the Monte Pollino (2248 m) which prominently appears in northeastern direction in the central background of the photograph.
