Aerial view along Milford Sound in NW direction. Located in Fiordland NP, this steep-sided fiord represents one of the major landmarks of New Zealand. Mitre Peak (1683 m) is shown on the left side of the scene. This area receives almost 7000 mm precipitation in an average year, and such clear days are relatively rare.
