View from Rigi Scheidegg in NE direction to the small town of Goldau in front of Rossberg (1580 m), built of conglomerate locally known as Nagelfluh. The scarp of the rock avalanche of 1806 is shown below the W summit. It resulted in one of the worst disasters in Swiss history, with hundreds of fatalities and major destruction.
