View from Rigi Scheidegg in NE direction to Rossberg with Gnipen (1568 m), built of conglomerate locally known as Nagelfluh. The scarp of the rock avalanche of 1806 dominates the scene. It resulted in one of the worst disasters in Swiss history, with hundreds of fatalities and the destruction of Goldau and other villages.
