Part of the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations (MuCEM) appears on the left side, in front of harbour facilities and a newly developed business district. Marseille Cathedral, shown in the right centre, was built between 1852 and 1896 in Romanesque-Byzantine Revival style.
