Kumborski tjesnac and Tivatski zaliv

WI_cg052.jpg

View from the vicinity of Provodina across the Bay of Herceg Novi to the Strait of Kumbor and the Bay of Tivat. All these features form part of the Bay of Kotor, a complex inlet representing a so-called ria: the valley of the former Bokelj river disintegrated due to tectonic processes and karstification and eventually submerged, leaving behind a system of bays connected by narrow straits. The peak in the background of the scene is Mrajanik (1336 m).
