Late afternoon view from Pucón to the 2860 m high stratovolcano Villarrica, known as Rucapillán in the Mapuche language. This basaltic-andesitic volcano typically displays strombolian eruptions, often accompanied by lahars which evolve due to the melting of snow and ice. The fume rising from the summit crater emerges from a lava lake.
