View from Piazzale Michelangelo down the Arno river in NW direction. Ponte Vecchio, shown in the centre, represents the oldest still existing bridge of Florence (the only one not destroyed in World War II). It dates back to the 14th century and has become a major tourist attraction. The road crossing the bridge is lined by shops on both sides.
