View from the summit area of Blasenka down the Großes Walsertal in SW direction. The peak on the right side is the Glatthorn (2133 m), highest summit of the Bregenzerwald and highest flysch mountain in Austria. The left side of the valley, in contrast, is dominated by limestone peaks. The entire valley has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2000, in order to protect sensitive ecosystems while promoting the sustainable development of the area.
