Panoramic view from Diedamskopf to the Lechquellen mountains and Damüls mountains in the left background, Mittagsfluh (1637 m) and Kanisfluh (2044 m) in the centre, and Guntenkopf (1811 m) in the right background. Kanisfluh and Mittagsfluh are composed of Jurassic limestone. The mountains behind consist of Cretaceous limestone and marl as well as flysch. These rocks, except for the flysch, formed at the N shelf of the Tethys ocean. This so-called Helvetic system is more common in Switzerland than in Austria.
