Street scene in the historic centre of Feldkirch. Protected by hills and located at the junction of important traffic routes, the evolving settlement had already been equipped with the rights of a town by the early 13th century. It still represents one of the most important urban centres in the province of Vorarlberg. The well-preserved old town and the Schattenburg (shown in the background of this photo) remind of earlier times.
