The small town of Bakar is perched at the end of the Bay of the same name. Apart from the rather picturesque historic centre and waterfront of the town, the area is heavily used for industry, and by the Port of Rijeka for handling bulk cargo, coal, and iron ore. The bridges in the background belong to the Kvarnerska autocesta (A7).
