Urubamba Valley with Machu Picchu and Cordillera Urubamba

Panoramic view from Montaña Machu Picchu, with the Urubamba Range in the background. The Río Urubamba meandering through the valley a thousand metres below the viewpoint forms one of the headwaters of Río Amazonas, meaning that its waters drain to the distant Atlantic Ocean. The left of the two prominent meander cores in the centre of the image is Huayna Picchu (2693 m), the right one is Putucusi (2560 m).
