WI_pe101_416_321.jpg

View from the vicinity of Chucura in W direction to the volcanic complex with the dormant Ampato (left, 6288 m) and Sabancaya (right, 5976 m). Volcán Sabancaya has shown repeated activity since 1986 and may produce several explosions a day, with ash clouds rising 3 km and more. The steam plume indicates the early stage of an eruption.
