WI_md154.jpg

This endemic species, also known as Pride of Madeira, grows in the Central Mountain Massif and is a close relative to Echium wildpretii, the giant rosette species found on the Canary Islands. In various other parts of the world where it has been introduced, Echium candicans is considered an invasive neophyte.
