Berlin | Lustgarten with Altes Museum and Dom

WI_ge450.jpg

View from the rooftop of the Humboldt Forum across the park of Lustgarten to the Old Museum. The Berlin Cathedral dominates the right portion of the photograph. It is the largest Protestant church in Germany and also represents an important dynastic tomb (House of Hohenzollern). It was built around 1900 in the Renaissance and Baroque Revival styles. Damaged during World War II, the cathedral was renovated during GDR times, even though part of it was deliberately destroyed for ideological reasons.
