Berlin | Lustgarten and Dom

WI_ge449.jpg

The Berlin Cathedral is the largest Protestant church in Germany and also represents an important dynastic tomb (House of Hohenzollern). It was built around 1900 in the Renaissance and Baroque Revival styles. Damaged during World War II, the cathedral was renovated during GDR times, even though part of it was deliberately destroyed for ideological reasons. The Berlin TV Tower can be seen in the right background of the photo.
