The Bremer Roland decorates the Marktplatz since 1404. Together with the city hall, it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The heart labelled with "Ischa Freimaak" tells in local dialect that the traditional Freimarkt (Free Fair), held annually in the second half of October, is going on.
