The Milan Cathedral is considered the largest church in Italy and one of the largest in the World. Its construction started in 1386 and took almost 600 years until completion in 1965. The church is surrounded by the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square), forming the very centre of Milan, the most important urban agglomeration of N Italy.
