View across the tongue of one of Austria's largest glaciers to Großglockner (3798 m) and Glocknerwand (3722 m). Rock fall has resulted in a debris cover on the right side of the Pasterze which, to some extent, reduces the recession rate as it protects the ice from solar radiation. Johannisberg (3453 m) is shown in the right central background.
