The Alhambra represents a complex of palaces and fortresses declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. It includes the Palacios Nazaríes, which are often considered the finest piece of Islamic architecture in Europe. They date back to the 14th century. One of them is the Palacio del Partal, only part of which still exists.
