Villanueva de la Concepción and Torcal de Antequera

WI_e5070.jpg

View from El Charcón in NW direction. This part of the Betic Cordillera consists of a mosaic of different types of mainly sedimentary rocks. The softer sand- and siltstones forming rolling hills used for agriculture, as seen in the foreground, stand in sharp contrast to the harder rocks - mainly limestone - building high ridges and plateaus, such as the Torcal de Antequera in the background of the photo.
