View from El Charcón in NW direction. This part of the Betic Cordillera consists of a mosaic of different types of mainly sedimentary rocks. The softer sand- and siltstones forming rolling hills used for agriculture, as seen in the foreground and centre, stand in sharp contrast with harder rocks - mainly limestone - building high ridges and plateaus, such as the Torcal de Antequera in the background of the photo.
