Szent György-hegy (415 m) is the ruin of an ancient volcano. What remains is mainly the basaltic core. Contraction due to cooling and solidification of the lava has resulted in a system of joints separating column-like pieces of rock. Weathering, erosion, and rock falls have formed a landscape of individual columns and groups of columns (organs).
