Aspromonte | Beech forest

The highlands of the Aspromonte NP reach up to almost 2000 m asl. They are covered with extensive beech (Fagus sylvatica, the dominant species in the photo) and conifer forests, standing in sharp contrast to the surrounding mediterranean landscapes.
