Iceland's Alþingi represents the World's oldest surviving parliament, founded in 930 at Þingvellir. The building on the left side has been hosting the Alþingi since 1881, even though parts of it were later relocated to other buildings. The city's oldest church appears in the right portion of the photo. The square in the background is Austurvöllur.
