View over St. John's in eastern direction. The centre of Antigua's capital is not much larger than the cruise ships commonly encountered in the harbour, playing a very important role for tourism in Antigua: they arrive in the morning and leave in the evening, securing the income of countless tour organizers, taxi drivers, and shop owners. In contrast, there are only few hotels and restaurants in the town centre.
