Toconao | Quebrada de Jere

This photograph was taken during a period of unusual rainfall, so that the stream running through the gorge shows a relatively high discharge and sediment load. However, the protective structures installed directly upstream of the main road bridge and the village of Toconao indicate that much more extreme runoff or debris flow events are possible in this usually relatively dry valley.
