Pâclele Mici | Mud volcano landscape

WI_ro057.jpg

Mud volcanoes are associated to exhalations of gas - mainly methane - mobilizing water and fine sediments in the Earth's crust which are transported to the surface under pressure and produce eruptions of mud. The result are volcano-like hills formed by numerous mud flows out of a central crater, and entire landscapes of finally dry mud.
