This UNESCO World Heritage Site forms the very centre of Nepal's capital city. The ensemble of temples, idols, artwork, and open space in between occupies the area near to the old Royal Palace of the Kathmandu Kingdom. The earthquake of 25 April 2015 has led to the complete or partial collapse of some of the structures, whereas others survived.
