Delhi | Qutb Complex with Qutub Minar

WI_in058.jpg

This ancient assemblage of Islamic monuments was built on (and from) the rubble of destroyed Hindu and Jain places of worship. The cloister of the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque appears in the left foreground, whereas the 73 m high minaret Qutub Minar (constructed between the outgoing 12th Century and the late 14th Century) can be seen in the right background of the photograph.
