The Windsor Castle in Berkshire, today representing a royal residence and a popular tourist attraction, looks back to a long and eventful history from its beginnings in the 11th century to the fire in 1992. The official entrance to the State Apartments can be seen on the left side, whereas the S and E wings of the Upper Ward appear in the central and right part of the photo.
